Edward Lodewijk "Eddie" Van Halen (born January 26, 1955) is a Dutch-American musician, songwriter and producer. He is best known as the lead guitarist, occasional keyboardist and co-founder of the hard rock band Van Halen. He is considered to be one of the world's greatest guitarists, and one of the most influential rock guitarists of the 20th century. In 2011, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Van Halen number eight in the list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists.In 2012, he was voted in, a Guitar World magazine reader's poll, at number one of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".Van Halen is considered by many to be the 'last guitar hero'
Alex Van Halen – drums, percussion (1972–present)
Alexander Arthur "Alex" Van Halen (born May 8, 1953) is a Dutch-American musician, best known as the drummer and co-founder of the hard rock band Van Halen. Originally, his brother Eddie played drums, while Alex practiced guitar. After spending time playing Eddie's drum kit, Alex became more skillful at the drums than Eddie.
David Lee Roth – lead vocals, occasional acoustic guitars (1974–85, 1996, 2007–present)
David Lee Roth (born October 10, 1954) is an American rock vocalist, songwriter, actor, author, and former radio personality. In 2007, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Roth is best known as the original (1974–1985) and current (2006–present) lead singer of the Pasadena, California-based hard rock band Van Halen. He is also known as a successful solo artist, releasing numerous RIAA-certified Gold and Platinum records.After more than two decades apart, Roth re-joined Van Halen in 2006 for a North American tour that became the highest grossing in the band's history and one of the highest grossing of that year.In 2012, Roth and Van Halen released the comeback album A Different Kind of Truth.
Wolfgang Van Halen – bass, backing vocals (2006–present)
Wolfgang William Van Halen (born March 16, 1991) is an American musician. He is the bassist for Van Halen, having replaced Michael Anthony in 2006. He is also the bassist for the heavy metal band Tremonti.
Mark Stone – bass, backing vocals (1972–74)
Mark Stone was the bass guitar player in a band called Mammoth from 1972–1974. Mammoth also featured Eddie Van Halen (lead vocals and guitar) and Alex Van Halen (drums).In early 1974 vocalist David Lee Roth joined the band, who shortly thereafter changed their name to Van Halen. By around mid 1974, the group felt that Stone's commitment to school outweighed his interests in pursuing music professionally, and decided to look for another bass player. Michael Anthony, from the Pasadena-area band Snake, was chosen as Stone's replacement. Stone remained on good terms with his former bandmates, and attended Eddie Van Halen's marriage to Valerie Bertinelli in 1981.

Michael Anthony Sobolewski (born June 20, 1954), known professionally as Michael Anthony, is an American musician who is currently the bass player in the rock supergroup Chickenfoot. Anthony is best known as the former bass player for the hard rock band Van Halen.
Sammy Hagar – lead vocals, rhythm guitar, occasional co-lead guitars (1985–96, 2003–05)
Samuel Roy "Sammy" Hagar (born October 13, 1947),also known as The Red Rocker,is an American rock vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, musician and entrepreneur. Hagar came to prominence in the 1970s with the hard rock band Montrose. He afterwards launched a successful solo career, scoring an enduring hit in 1984 with "I Can't Drive 55". He enjoyed huge commercial success when he replaced David Lee Roth as the lead singer of Van Halen in 1985, but left the band in 1996. He returned to the band for a 2-year reunion from 2003 to 2005. On March 12, 2007, Hagar was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen. His musical style primarily consists of hard rock and heavy metal.
Gary Cherone – lead vocals (1996–1999)
Gary Francis Caine Cherone (/ʃəˈroʊn/ shə-rohn; born July 26, 1961) is an American rock singer and songwriter. He is best known for his work as the lead vocalist of the Boston rock group Extreme, as well as his short stint as the lead vocalist for Van Halen on their 11th album Van Halen III and subsequent tour. In recent years he has released solo recordings. In 2007, he reunited with Extreme. The band's latest album Saudades de Rock was released on August 12, 2008.
