“Lounge” 在英文里，它总是带有‘闲散’、‘悠哉’、‘舒服’的意义”，“而什么样的音乐能给你这样的感觉呢？如果在音乐里头加点关于热带度假胜地的异国风情，比方是民谣、轻爵士、拉丁打击乐、阿根廷探戈、西班牙、佛朗明哥，是不是有一种难得的惬意？”

沙发音乐可算是Chill-out的一种，使听者把身体放软了、陷在沙发里瘫着欣赏的音乐，所以称之为“沙发音乐”。Lounge有“懒洋洋地倚靠着”的意思；另外也可指的是机场的休息室或饭店的交谊厅。
总之，它都跟“闲散”、“悠哉”有关，这就是沙发音乐的风格。
Lounge可以是冷峻简约的电子音乐,也可以是随性浪漫的法国香颂或是热情奔放的拉丁曼波,你想得出的各式音乐类型:Trance、Techno、House、Acid-Jazz、Chill-Out、Latin、Downbeat、Bossa、World Music等等都可被Remix成各式Lounge Music.
Lounge似乎霸占了市场更长的时间,拓展了各大的乐迷地盘,原因无非它拥有易为一般人接受的元素: 慵懒、情调、迷幻,最重要的是它的无压特质,带给了现代都会人遁世的时尚感.因为Lounge Music是指一种气氛和品味而非音乐型式,所以很少会有一首歌被归为Lounge...
