Background info

       1975年6月23日出生于苏格兰-爱丁堡的 KT Tunstall，是一位女性歌手、吉他手也是音乐创作人，
最令人瞩目的便是她在现场独特的吉他弹唱风格，特别像是"Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" 这首歌。

在她歌曲表演的开始，使用了loop pedal在现场录下自己即时制造出来的声音样本 (可能是吉他旋律、节奏、敲击声或人声)
然后当成之后演唱该首曲子的背景循环节奏或音乐，可称得上是饶富创意的艺术呈现。

KT Tunstall 是被领养长大的 (养父是物理学家、养母则是学校老师)，她20多岁时才遇见自己的亲生母亲 (中国人)
并告诉她，她的生父是一位民谣乐手 (爱尔兰人)，不过KT至今还是未曾亲眼见过自己的父亲。

Music awards

KT 优异的音乐天份及表现在过去已得过诸多的音乐殊荣 :

2005年的《Q Music Awards》以"Black Horse and the Cherry Tree"获选为最佳歌曲。

2006年夺得全英最佳女性独奏音乐人《Best British Female Solo Artist》奖项头衔。

2006年以 "Suddenly I See" 这首歌获选为最佳词曲创作歌曲奖。

2006年的《Scottish Style Awards》夺得最具有风格的音乐人奖。

2007 年再次以 "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" 这首歌得到格莱美 (Grammy Award) 最佳流行女歌手的提名。
