黑暗三部曲的第二部"黑暗之外".依然是宏大无比的死亡交响乐,装帧十分精美,三折digipack,专辑的封面和歌本的封面来自于两副名画达芬奇的"La Vierge au Rocher".维克托雨果的"Paysage sous la lune"；厚厚的歌词本,用的是杜雷的铜版失乐园中的系列插图,而那个深睡的上帝形象则出自丢勒的木板作品。让人陶醉.几乎所有歌词及编曲均出自Alexandre Hasnaoui和Renaud Tschirner之手.其中许多首歌是Renaud Tschirner94年为OTUS SCOPS这交响乐章编写的.

新任女主唱Nathalie Barbary的加入令Elend的阵容变成了双女声，而本专辑中女声演绎部分陡增,整体气氛也由此比第一张多了一丝悲凉和柔美,和男声兽吼嘶嗥的对比也更为强烈，非常赞！！虽然依旧是合成器仿交响乐团演奏,但这张专辑的管弦编排更复杂,更跌宕起伏,史诗!!真正的交响史诗!推荐给所有喜欢古典音乐的乐迷聆听~~~~~~~~越听越觉得两位创作者更应该被我们称之为作曲家.幻想一下如果能在国家大剧院里，聆听一下真实的交响乐团现场演绎的整个的黑暗三部曲那该是多么令人神往的事情呀.

同前专辑一样,歌词仍是以第一人称撰写,描写了SATAN和堕天使们在地狱中的生活.他们不甘心失败,反思那场旷日持久的战争,期望能有机会再次战斗,取得胜利.

这张专辑于2001再版, 加了一首"Birds Of Dawn"(12:10).这首作品之前出现在HOLY96年出品的圣经合辑中.封面变成了暗红色.

这个黑暗三部曲系列我个人觉得肯定会流传百年....谁说古典音乐已然衰落？现代古典乐已然丧失了创造力？？那他们都该听听elend
