莎拉·沃恩是与埃拉·菲茨杰拉德和比莉·哈乐黛齐名的20世纪爵士歌坛三大天后，她音域宽广的优秀嗓音，全神贯注的情感激情和近乎完美的演唱技巧足以和全世界最杰出的歌手匹敌。
这个资源会把她从1954年到2013年发行过的30多张正式录音专辑共40多CD全部发出，争取每日更新吧。其中有一部分是后来发布的重制版，比如第一张专辑就是2009年发行的1954年《Sarah Vaughan With Clifford Brown》和1955年《In the Land of Hi-Fi》两张专辑的重制版合辑。我会以原始唱片的发行年代顺序更新后面的专辑。
莎拉原本是教堂唱诗班的成员，在阿波罗剧院的歌唱大赛拿到大奖后进入就是乐坛。1943年她加入了厄尔·海因斯的乐队，一年后与比利·艾克斯坦灌注了第一张唱片，很快便成为当时的首席歌手。她的声音可以诠释任何类型的音乐，让流行歌曲和小号、钢琴、鼓和贝司一起摇滚，翻唱出了最时髦的波普音乐。
1954年离开比利的乐队并和John Kirby短暂合作后，莎拉组建了自己的三重奏，以后的几年里，和迈克尔·戴维斯为Mercury合录的几张专辑及和克利福德·布朗合作的《Sarah Vaughan With Clifford Brown》都是当时的顶尖作品。莎拉真正将爵士演唱带到了最高峰。她从不仅仅局限于歌词和旋律，而进入真正的自我演唱领域，以戏谑式的唱腔强调歌词，并在旋律和和弦上加以变化，而她的Scat的即兴更是美妙，她能轻松地和乐手们一起跑出乐句。
